Countries

HealthNet TPO actively works in regions where daily life is affected and determined by war, violence and/or (natural) disasters. These areas, so-called “fragile countries”, are characterized by a lack of infrastructure, resources and political strength to (re)build public services. This results in a lack of stable housing, insufficient food, poor health, isolation and lack of income, safety and security. Peace agreements are one of the first steps towards social recovery, but such an agreement is impossible without community trust.

Since 1992 we have implemented programmes in 27 countries. At this time HealthNet TPO is working in eight fragile states:

Afghanistan;

Burundi;

Cambodia;

Democratic Republic of Congo;

Nepal;

Pakistan;

Sri Lanka;

Republic of South Sudan

Since 2009 we also have active projects in The Netherlands, where we provide mental and psychosocial support to repatriating refugees.

At our headquarters in Amsterdam, we currently have 34 paid staff, who collectively support 2200 staff members in our project countries. In addition, we have an elaborated network of consultants on various expertises that work on a project basis.
