HealthNet TPO is very proud to have Mark Jordans in the team of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as it is a great honour to be appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer in such a highly respected institute. Mark will be involved in the Department of Nutrition and Public Health Intervention Research. Within this position Mark will collaborate with LSHTM on a number of programmes, such as researching the integration and scaling up of mental health care in fragile states, collaborating on a South Asian Hub for Advocacy, Research & Education on mental health, and the development of new evidence-based interventions in low-resource settings. In addition, Mark will contribute to LSHTM’s new MSc course in Global Mental Health, with a specific focus on children in adversity and integration of mental health in fragile contexts.
In his teaching, Mark will emphasize the interplay between research and practice – connecting global evidence with local knowledge – and integrate his experiences from diverse studies and interventions programmes that he has been involved in over the past 12 years, in Nepal and elsewhere. The appointment as an Honorary Senior Lecturer further aims to formalize and strengthen the partnership between HealthNet TPO and LSHTM by developing new research programmes in the future, especially on child and adolescent mental health in low income countries.
